Sentators Singles: Jordan Zimmermann Triple-T

Jordan Zimmermann
DEBUT WIN GU AUTO
Here is another one of these things. This card was one of my first GU/Auto combination cards I got from a group break. That is my story and I'm sticking to it. I forget if it might have been a redemption? Anyway even though I don't like game used cards or the concept, I do make some exceptions for some exceptional cards and this is one of them. The front is real shinny in reality one of those examples of cards that look much better in person. Anyway I like to let the cards do the talking in this feature so:

2009 Topps Triple Threads GU Auto Sapphire 130 Jordan Zimmermann RC Nationals #d 04/10
All white spells out "Debut Win" on sticker auto blue sharpie.
(Front and Back)
It is a very sweet card but there are two big things about it that I wish it wasn't. I wish it wasn't a darn ALL WHITE game-used (or event-used it doesn't specify so it might not even be from a Nationals uniform) and even though the design makes it look like it is a "on card" auto it is actually one of those very sneaky on-sticker autos. The silvery foil sticker of course is carefully placed on the "inner" card before the top frame is glued on. I prefer the on card autographs of course. The consolation is that it is a serial numbered card up to just 10 and one of the early numbers.

Strive for '65

On my regular blog I posted a special goal I call "Strive for '65" to complete my 1965 Topps set build by next April the 50th Anniversary of the set and also my 50th birthday (yeah I don't like to talk about my birthday much)

Hopefully before then I can finish up the Senators Team set from that year. If I don't I'll be pretty sad.

Lets see here is what I need for the Senators set, just 15 11 9 1 to go of the 26 Senators from that year:

Technically I have all of them but my Don Blasingame #21 has paper glued to the back. At one point it was glued into a binder or notebook of some kind. I need an upgraded copy with a readable back.

021 Don Blasingame (just got it but need desperate upgrade)
099 Gil Hodges MGR
148 Willie Kirkland
152 Phil Ortega
211 Steve Ridzik
224 Bob Chance
252 Pete Richert
284 Nick Willhite
304 Dave Stenhouse
319 Ken McMullen
336 Woodie Held
371 Frank Kreutzer
466 Senators Rookies: Pete Craig,  Dick Nen RC
496 Joe Cunningham
523 Mike Brumley SP

Frankly Friday: Breakfast 1963 Post Style

Breakfast 1963 Style and a Bowl of Post Cereal
I probably should wait to show this card until I can find the rarer variation of it. Well I guess when I do get it I'll repeat this card. Anyway here is the card:
1963 Post 131a Frank Robinson Reds (No stripes on Cap)
(Front and Back)
There are two variations of this card. The difference is in Frank's cap I have the "No Stripes" version and there is a version where Frank's cap has red stripes and is the "Striped" version (131b). I think that one might be the rarer of the two.
